Scuba diving in California offers a mesmerizing underwater world filled with diverse marine life, vibrant kelp forests, and breathtaking underwater landscapes along its picturesque coast.
Scuba diving in the Channel Islands (Santa Catalina, San Clemente and Santa Barbara Islands) is known for its towering giant kelp forests, excellent visibility, and abundant marine life. Located off the Southern California coast, these Islands offer some of the best temperate-water diving in the United States, with visibility commonly ranging from 40' to 80' and often exceeding 100 feet!
Divers exploring these waters can expect encounters with playful sea lions, bright orange garibaldi, giant kelp bass, sheephead, bat rays, leopard sharks, moray eels, octopus and a wide variety of nudibranchs and macro life. The kelp forests create dramatic underwater scenery and provide natural navigation, making each dive both relaxing and immersive.
Water temperatures typically range from the mid-50s to low-70s (F) making the Channel Islands ideal for divers using 5-7mm wetsuits or dry suits. With mild currents, protected coves and a variety of shore and boat dive sites, California scuba diving is suitable for divers of all experience levels!
Arizona Dive Center hosts California Scuba Diving adventures to California (location is determined by weather and San Clemente access is determined by use of the U.S. Navy). We are proud to escort our divers to California to have unforgettable underwater experiences in one of the most iconic dive destinations on the West Coast.

Trip Information
Join us the Wednesday before the trip for a pre-trip meeting where you will meet your fellow divers, meet your trip leaders, arrange carpooling and caravans, and talk about the trip details. We meet on-board the boat (it is docked at the 22nd Street Sportfishing Landing in San Pedro, CA). Trip waivers will be emailed before the trip - please complete them early so you are cleared to dive!
The trip includes 6 to 8 dives (you and your buddy make the plan!), hot meals, bunk-style lodging and airfills. The crew is amazing - they will help load / unload your equipment from your vehicle, assist with meals, keep the boat clean and our cylinders full!
Trip excludes: crew gratuity, rental scuba equipment, transportation, and meals during the drive. Trip details will be covered during the pre-trip meeting in detail!
Refund Policy
At Arizona Dive Center, we understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise; however, due to the nature of our dive trips and courses, refunds are not permitted. Once a booking is confirmed, all deposits and payments are non-refundable. We encourage our customers to carefully consider their travel plans before making a reservation.
